Haven House
The Provident Bank Foundation , which supports organizations that are dedicated to improving the lives of residents in the communities served by Provident Bank, has provided Haven House with a $3,000 community grant to support the renovations of the kitchen at the community mental health clinic into a full cooking kitchen to provide free fresh hot meals for clients attending the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services day program. Currently, the kitchen is only equipped with crock pots, a microwave and hot dog turner. The kitchen completion involves purchase/installation of a commercial stove, fire suppression and hood system, and kitchen equipment such as pots, pans, safety attire, and coffee makers. Haven House clients are low-income, ages 18 and up, with a severe and chronic mental illness. Haven House provides free lunch to 35-50 clients per day. Clients are taught independent living skills, with instruction in meal preparation, safety, and nutrition. read more
Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem
The Provident Bank Foundation , which supports organizations that are dedicated to improving the lives of residents in the communities served by Provident Bank, has provided the Boys & Girls Club of Bethlehem with a $2,500 community grant to support the Club’s Project Learn after-school program for youth of all ages. Project Learn helps drive and enhance academic success for youth. Components of this program include: daily homework help for club members, individual or small-group tutoring to help youth gain proficiency in needed subject areas, regular implementation of high-yield learning activities (HYLAs), in which youth participate in fun, intentional activities designed to expose young people to skills and information needed for school success, school-club-family partnerships to support youth academically and recognizing all members for their academic achievements. read more
