We have committed to funding $1.3 million in grants in 2023
through our Community Grant, Major Grant, and Signature Grant programs.
Important Instructions for submitting a request
- Please read the Guidelines and follow all instructions and deadlines carefully. Failure to follow directions may result in requests being denied.
- All requests must be submitted through the links provided below.
- Ensure all required documents are attached. Only complete LOIs and Applications will be reviewed.
- Late submissions will not be accepted. No changes or additions will be accepted after submission.
- PLEASE NOTE: Requests will not be accepted from organizations with active grants from PBF. We must also be in receipt of all progress reports from previous grants.

Community Grants
The deadline for 2023 Community Grant applications is 11:59 PM EST on October 27.

To be considered for a Community Grant, eligible organizations must submit a complete Application which will be reviewed for alignment with the priorities of the grant program. Organizations may request between $1,000 and $5,000.
PBF will accept Applications on a rolling basis from January 3, 2023 until 11:59 PM EST on October 27, 2023. Please allow PBF 90 days to review your request and communicate a response.
PBF will not be accepting grant proposals in 2024 as we undergo a strategic review and refresh of our operations, but we are committed to providing funding support during that time. Therefore, Community Grants funded in 2023 will be automatically renewed and funded again in 2024.
The Community Grant program provides $1,000–$5,000 in general operating support to eligible organizations with missions that are aligned with ours.
Major Grants
The Letter of Intent deadline for Cycle 1 is 11:59 PM EST on January 24.
The Cycle 2 Letter of Intent will be available at 9:00 AM EST on July 10.

To be considered for a Major Grant, eligible organizations must first submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) which will be reviewed and scored for alignment with the priorities of the Major Grant.
If an LOI passes the initial review, the applicant organization will be invited to submit an Application. Final awards will be made after the review and approval of Applications by PBF’s Board of Directors. Key dates for the 2023 application cycles are listed in the grant guidelines document and on the GUIDELINES page of our website.
PBF will not be accepting grant proposals in 2024 as we undergo a strategic review and refresh of our operations, but we are committed to providing funding support during that time. Therefore, Major Grants funded in 2023 will be automatically renewed and funded again in 2024.
The Major Grant program provides flexible, full-cost funding support for programs, projects, or initiatives that address one or more of PBF’s funding priority areas and demonstrate community enhancement and meaningful impact over the grant term. Major Grants will be awarded to eligible organizations in the range of $5,001–$25,000.
Organizations applying for a Major Grant must have audited financial statements or a financial review conducted by an independent auditor.
Signature Grants
The Letter of Intent will be available at 9:00 AM EST on February 13 through 11:59 PM EST on March 10.

We encourage all organizations interested in applying for a Signature Grant to pitch their proposal to PBF before attempting the Letter of Intent. Please contact Foundation@Provident.Bank to set up a call between January 3–February 10, 2023.

PBF will not be accepting grant proposals in 2024 as we undergo a strategic review and refresh of our operations. Organizations whose Signature Grant requests are declined in 2023 cannot apply again for funding support until 2025.
The Signature Grant program emphasizes sustainable community enhancement, meaningful impact, and long-term change. We seek to build relationships with organizations that have the capacity and drive to facilitate the creation or expansion of programs that address the chronic problems impacting quality of life in our communities. Signature Grants will provide multi-year, flexible funding support paid out over one, two, or three years for bold, innovative programs that propose solutions to these problems.
